I can’t think of a better way to start 2020 than with a focus on God’s faithfulness. We have no idea what 2020 truly holds for us. But we know the One who holds our futures in His faithful hands.
Deuteronomy 7:9 reminds us that God’s faithfulness is a gift to us and the generations before and after us. “Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.”
Seeing God as faithful in the lives of others is encouraging and it builds our faith in who He is for us. Reading the Bible not only tells us who God is and what He will do, it shows us how He lived out His faithfulness towards our ancestors. We read the whole story and see the hand of God in the midst of the struggle and within a few chapters, we usually see the end result of their trust in God or the lack of it.
In the midst of our own walk of faith, we do not have the same vantage point or timeline. Our story hasn’t been completed or compressed into a few chapters. When we are walking and waiting to see the hand of God move a mountain or fulfill a specific promise to us, we need fresh strength to continue the journey with hope. We need the truth about God to wash over us constantly and we need to hear how He is demonstrating Himself to others. That’s what I want to accomplish for us here this year.
Here at Prayerfully Speaking, you can expect testimonies of God’s faithfulness, Bible studies that deepen and expand our prayer life, and a community of believers who are willing to pray for you and cheer you on in your walk of faith in His faithfulness.
New Bible Study
On January 22nd, we will launch our first Bible Study of the year together. We will be studying The Power of Covenant Prayer by Francis Frangipane. You can order it on Amazon, Christianbook.com, Arrow Bookstore or find it used online.
Sign up here to join the online Bible study. Feel free to invite your friends to join us.
The study will be hosted via email and in my Fresh Strength Facebook group for women. The teaching team and I will send out the study notes via email and offer live Bible teaching in the group. The videos will be on YouTube later for those who aren’t on Facebook or in the group.
Refresh Your Hope
A dear friend gave me the book, He is Faithful, as a gift this Christmas. I devoured this little book of short testimonies of God’s faithfulness. I wept through the first few because my heart was just so hungry for this truth and relieved by the evidences of our true and trustworthy Father. I highly recommend this little book if you need a fresh dose of hope. I shared one of the testimonies from He is Faithful in my first Bible teaching of the year in the Fresh Strength Facebook group. My Prayer for You
May God persist in revealing Himself to you in extravagant and extraordinary ways. May your heart be ready to receive His love and the wonder of His faithfulness. In Jesus, I pray. Amen
